Babes In Arms Program

BABES IN ARMS CAST - ENSEMBLE TERI MAY (Phyllis McCabe): Retired after 20 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, Teri recently returned to her hometown. After a regimented career, she is thoroughly enjoying the spontaneity and exciting escapades of the theatre community. Teri dedicates this performance to her friends and family for all their support. DON MILLAR (Jimmy): After three theatre roles in his younger years, Don had a career as a chiropractor and raised a son. Now retired, he seized the opportunity to work with two amazing directors, Art Fidler and Rick Smith, and the talented BABES Company! LAURA OCOVICH (Ella): Music has always been in Laura’s heart, second only to her beautiful, loving and supportive family. Singing has been a magical part of her life since childhood. After several years away from it, Laura is grateful to be returning to her passion and can’t wait to see where it takes her. JOHN PALMER (John Amos): In recent shows, John was type-cast as a semi-senile lecherous old man. It’s a relief to him to be cast as a young activist – throwbacks to his days in the civil rights and anti-war movements. What fun this has been! MARGARITA SANCHEZ-FAVRO (Lola): Margarita has been involved in theatre since she was little in her home country, Venezuela, where she won acting awards. Her first appearance in Canada was with Link Theatre, then with LCP, MTP and Pacheco Theatre. She’s thrilled to be part of the Silver Spotlight and one of the “Babes” in this amazing production. ROB SMITH (Trigger and Bassist): Rob joined his school choir in Grade 6 and during first practice, he got kicked out for showing too much enthusiasm. So, he stopped singing at school until Grade 11 when he joined Gerald Fagan’s choir, and everything changed for life. So here he is now…and you’re stuck with him! JAYNE TERRY (Mickey): Jayne participated in theatre during her high school years, but attended before big musicals were performed. She loves Broadway musicals, and thanks to Musical Theatre Productions, Silver Spotlight, Rick and Art, she is living a dream in retirement of singing in a musical! And performing with her brother John is better than she could ever have imagined. Thanks for this fabulous experience. MARY-ELLEN WILLARD (Daisy): After honing her lead vocals over the years with a few area bands, Mary-Ellen is delighted to bring her talent to the stage in her second-ever musical comedy. She performed in a high school production of “Wish You Were Here” under Art’s direction and she’s honoured to have the chance to work with him again, supported always by her biggest cheerleader, Andrew. TONI WILSON (Anna): Toni has been part of Musical Theatre Productions over the years either on the stage or in the Director’s chair. Most of the time she’s shared her passion for drama by teaching secondary school students. Silver Spotlight Theatre gives her and the Babes another chance to shine. MITCHELL ZIMMER (Clem): Mitch has tinkered with the harmonica since the late 1980’s playing in various folk/rock/blues bands. He and his wife, Maria Marsh, trained at different times with Patrick McKenna and Bruce Hunter at Second City in London. They met while performing an improvisational comedy skit.
