Heartgard’s Innovative iPad Application
Heartworm disease can have deadly consequences for dogs. Pet owners trust their veterinarian to protect their pets by prescribing proven preventative treatments. The heartworm prevention landscape has become very crowded and veterinarians now have more choices than ever before. It is critical that sales representatives make the most of the time they spend with each veterinary clinic.
With this in mind, adHOME developed an innovative iPad application to support Merial’s annual Heartgard booking program. This new application integrated promotional details, product information and customer sales history – empowering representatives with everything they needed, right at their fingertips. Armed with this new sales tool, they were able to provide a more interactive, dynamic and pleasurable sales experience for the clinic. Orders could also be placed directly from the iPad and automatically submitted to customer service for processing.
Moving from a paper-based system, which involved several manual streams, to a new automated ordering process reduced labour costs while improving order accuracy. Heartgard sales during the program increased by 30% over the same period in the previous year, thanks in large part to the iPad application. Similar iPad applications were quickly adopted by other teams within Merial Canada and the tool now plays an important role in the organization’s sales process.
