Surge Communications, a full-service advertising agency based in London, Ontario announced the launch of its new brand, website and corporate identity – adHOME. Partners Mark Brown and Mary-Ellen Willard took ownership of the company in April 2012.
Last week, the new brand was formally introduced to clients including Maple Leaf Foodservice, Merial Canada, Roxul, Procter & Gamble, Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation, TSSA and Western Fair District. “The vision for adHOME is to be among Canada’s most respected creative advertising agencies, attracting and developing the best marketing talent in the region while partnering with clients that share our values,” stated Mark Brown.
“Everyone at the agency has chosen to call London their home. Many of us have worked in larger cities in Canada and abroad, but we’ve all decided to put down roots here. The name adHOME really echoes this and acknowledges the type of relationships we strive for with colleagues, clients and our community,” noted Mary-Ellen Willard.
The decision to rebrand the agency was driven by a desire to better and more consistently articulate the company’s creative strengths and collaborative approach. This change also necessitated a culture shift. The pair is committed to transforming their office space into a more comfortable environment where staff will feel “at home” to share ideas openly and make bold creative choices. Additionally, they’re placing a renewed focus on giving back to the local community by supporting organizations that have personal meaning to their team.
Additional Skills and Leadership
Over the years, the agency has expanded and adapted its capabilities in response to the ever-changing marketing landscape to become a fully integrated organization. In just the last year, adHOME has attracted new talent and leadership to the agency with the addition of skilled veteran, Curt Maine, as Creative Director. The agency has also significantly enhanced its digital team with five new staff members: an interactive project manager, two interactive designers, a junior developer, and a digital strategist.
