Making The Shortlist

On January 7, 2015, adHOME Creative was announced as a finalist for the London Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in the category of Medium Business of the Year. The awards celebrate the best and brightest of the London business community.

adHOME’s commitment to the City of London, positive work culture and their ability to adapt to a changing marketing landscape earned them a nod for the prestigious award.

“We want to support our city and see London thrive. That’s why we made a concerted effort to bring on more local clients and actively give back to our community,” said agency partner Mary-Ellen Willard.

The process started with a nomination from a colleague in the London business community. adHOME responded by completing an application that outlined business achievements, workplace innovations, management style, employee training, hiring processes, community involvement and commitment to the environment. Through this rigorous selection process, adHOME was very pleased to be shortlisted as one of the award finalists.

The next step included a visit from the Chamber of Commerce judges and a tour of the office in person. It was a great chance to immerse the selection committee in the company’s culture and showcase what makes adHOME such a great place to work.

adHOME maintains a staff of approximately 25 full-time employees and makes a conscious effort to keep local talent here in London. They also actively recruit from other markets, promoting the advantages of building a career in London and recently recruited two new employees from the K-W and Toronto markets. In addition, 44% of the staff are either Western, Ivey or Fanshawe alumni.

The agency is committed to their community and spends countless hours volunteering time and resources to causes that hold personal meaning to their team. Most recently, adHOME has been supporting a local organization that rescues animals and pairs them with at-risk youth with mental health challenges. They’ve created their new brand, a promotional video and a new website to help drive donations for this great cause.

Through it all, business partners Mark Brown and Mary-Ellen Willard stay focused on the task at hand – to build an agency that produces creative and bold ideas in a supportive and fun environment.

Other nominees include Arcane Digital, OTC Systems Ltd. and universitybrand. The winner of the award will be announced at the Business Achievement Awards Gala on Wednesday, March 25 at the London Convention Centre.
