Making London a Better Place to Call Home

Community is very important at adHOME.

Given their roots and the pull of family and friends, adHOME’s partners, Mark and Mary-Ellen, were both drawn back home to London after many years away.

Every single one of us at adHOME has made the choice to make London our home. We have a strong sense of gratitude and pride for the people in our lives and the place where we live. That’s why it’s important for us to give back.

Today, we’re launching our Blue Door Initiative: a banner under which to capture our activities that help make London a better place to call home.

adHOME is an advocate for building a strong sense of community both in and outside of the workplace. The Blue Door Initiative is a way to formalize our desire to give back and be a stronger, more visible member of our community. The iconic symbol of the door represents the opening of doors locally. It’s about reaching out and offering our help as well as inviting our community in.

Through Blue Door, we organize, coordinate and donate our time to various local grassroots projects that we are passionate about. The types of projects we complete come directly from adHOME staff suggestions.  At least four times a year, we rally our team, talent and energy around the causes that are most meaningful to us. Often, our team’s efforts encourage our clients, partners and the community at large to get involved too.

Recently, we created a video to help a local club volleyball team compete for a spot at the Nationals. For the Walk a Mile in her Shoes event, our menfolk squeezed into red high heel pumps to raise awareness to prevent violence against women and children. We produced a promotional video to help the counselling organization, Family Service Thames Valley, communicate its successes at its Annual General Meeting.

We’re excited about our next initiative, so watch for our Blue Door soon in a neighbourhood near you.
